Flies have been a nuisance worldwide for thousands of years! They prefer to feed and lay eggs on manure, rotting garbage and meat. Most fly problems occur in the warmer months from November through to March but some species can still breed well throughout the winter months. They are prolific breeders and are most active during the day.
RISKS TO YOU
Flies defecate every 4-5 minutes and they can transmit diseases through their faeces and vomit.
They contaminate food and food preparation surfaces when they land on them.
WHAT TO LOOK FOR
- Flies are hard to miss and like to settle indoors on ceilings, plants and near attractants
- They will enter through open doors and windows to find food and are attracted to the kitchen
- Clear rubbish regularly to ensure flies and fly larvae are kept to a minimum
TIPS TO MINIMISE FLIES
- Keep the home and garden free of litter and organic matter
- Use screens to cover doors and windows, especially while cooking
- Try to limit attractions, eg. clear rubbish, seal rubbish bins, clean up afer pets and their food
WHAT WE DO
We will inspect and implement a guaranteed fly control program to help minimise flies. Note flies will still enter through open doors and windows even after a pest control service.
